Jitsu?
The practice of BJJ is recommended by physicians,
psychologists and educators, as a complement of education, and relief of
psychological tensions improving physical development, with all these
benefits BJJ is an art "open" to all types of practitioners, useful to both
sexes of all ages. The teaching methodology allows realistic and safe
training. It is not necessary to be strong and muscular, because BJJ is
based on techniques of strategy and agility.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is also used by military and special units from the army
(SAS, Spetsnaz, Navy Seal, Marines), and law enforcement (FBI, GSG9, GIGN,

behaviour by developing relationships within the academy. Following rules
and maintaining discipline in the group, helps develop the concept of
respect for peers, teachers and Master. Learn simple actions like the salute
to the senior, courtesy in dealing with people, cleanliness, awareness,
etc.. also help, to eliminate flaws of characters, like aggressiveness,
passivity, shyness, insecurities.

Self-esteem: Self-confidence in BJJ is developed through the
notion of equality amongst all. BJJ makes it possible for the weak to
overcome the strong by shifting a disadvantaged situation into
advantageous one. Training in jiu-jitsu leads to self-knowledge which
creates the idea of respect between each other and increasing ones
self-esteem.
- Development of Motor
Coordination: In BJJ there are a great variety of motions that
require good coordination. Even with people who are not well
coordinated. Continually repeating these movements in training will
improve coordination, motor skills and body awareness.

BJJ players become faster and have more accurate reflexes because the
body has to adapt quickly and often to new locations to prevent
disadvantageous situations.

working out, BJJ helps relieve the every-day tensions and channels
energy constructively into physical and mental exercise.

training helps the control of anxiety by making the student experience
different situations, particularly positions they may not be used to. It
improves the calmness and discipline, teaching the student to be patient
and wait for the right moment to attack or defend. Anxiety can lead to
hasty and wrong moves. Patience is a virtue in this martial art, and
also in every day life.

develops an accurate picture of ones-self, working with the real and
reactive attitudes in our training you will develop self-control. Having
more self-confidence learning to channel this strength, as individual
learns to have more control in their attitude, mastering your emotions.

teaches us to respect all people, including the weakest one. BJJ
constantly shows ways for the weaker student to beat the strongest
student. In BJJ everyone is equal.

improves mental and physical aspect of our lives. Known to being a very
complete sport, BJJ uses all muscles of the body, giving athletes marked
improvements in endurance, cardio-vascular strength, conditioning, power
and muscle elasticity.

practical development. The training methodology is based on progressive
learning, allowing safe and realistic training.

BJJ is a martial art, considered by all experts as one of, or, more likely
the most complete of all martial arts. It develops people of all ages and
sizes and most importantly aims at the protection of individuals without the
practice of violence. So who practice BJJ? Even if it is physically weaker,
still have the chance to defend themselves against any aggressors by
movements based on principle of leverage which are effective even without
the use of strength.
